We now offer card customization. With customization you can have the name of your organization (and/or the purpose of your fundraiser) on the cards, in addition to a graphic of your mascot, logo, insignia, etc. Customization is FREE, offered on all orders—regardless of size—at no additional charge.

Custom Graphics

We have an extensive collection of generic clip art that can be used to customize the cards. Click on a category to the left to see a list of some standard clip art. If you don't see something you want, give us a call at 1-800-369-3991 or 1-800-610-3943. We can most likely find or make an image to suit your needs.

If you prefer, we can put your personal school, church, or team logo/mascot on the cards instead. We have no problem with using your stock graphics; in fact, we encourage it. However, to minimize setup time, we do require that the images be submitted within the following parameters.

Vector Graphics (Line-art/Clipart)

This is our preferred format and includes any line art created in programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand, and most standard clip art packages. Please submit vector graphics in one of the following formats: Adobe Illustrator (AI), Encapsulated Postcript (EPS), Windows Metafile (WMF), or Enhanced Metafile (EMF).

EPS is a standard format for most clipart/illustration programs.

To save as of the above formats, use your programs "Save As" or "Export" command. Formats available to your specific program will be shown in a "Format", "File Type" or similarly named list control. If none of the formats above are listed, please refer to submitting your graphic as a bitmap (below.) We do not support vector graphics submitted in any other format; this includes the native Corel Draw format.

IMPORTANT NOTE! If your logo contains text, please convert the text to lines before submission. In Illustrator (8.0) this can be done by selecting a text element, going to the Type menu, and choosing "Create Outlines". In other programs there should be a similar command. The reason for doing this is that we may not have the fonts you used; if you submit an image with text that is not converted to lines we will be unable to open the document if we do not have the requisite fonts.

Raster Images (Bitmaps/Scans)

This includes any scanned drawing, photograph, or any logo created in Adobe Photoshop, Corel PhotoPaint, Paintshop Pro or a similar program. Please submit bitmaps in one of the following formats (in order of preference): Tagged Image Format (TIF), Photoshop Document (PSD), Bitmap (BMP), Targa (TGA), PCX, GIF, JPEG, or PNG. If you are submitting an image in the JPEG format, please make sure it is a LARGE image, as JPEGs discard image quality in favor of a smaller file size, and small JPEG images do not print well.

TIF is a standard format for most photo-editing/painting programs.

In addition to being one of the above formats, scanned images should use the following guides.

  • Graphics should be scanned in at a resolution of 300dpi or greater (preferably 600 dpi). Regardless of resolution, the final image size should be somewhere around 600 to 800 pixels—one to two inches—in width (or height, if greater). Smaller images may appear blocky in appearance.
  • Graphics should not be marked up in any way. Do not circle, outline, scribble, denote, or mar the graphics. Said marks will appear in print.
  • Graphics should be set against a high contrast background, preferably white. Graphics will be printed on white card stock (with the exception of Subway which is yellow); graphics set against a background other than white may have a colored "halo" around it that may show up in print.

To save an image as a bitmap please use your programs Save As or Export feature. In the "Format" or "File Type" list box one of the following formats should appear: TIFF, BMP, PSD, PCX, TGA, GIF, JPG, or PNG. We prefer TIF or PSD. If none of the above formats are available, please refer to Vector graphics; if none of those formats are available either you will need to try another application, or use an alternative method of submitting graphics, as detailed below.

Document

Our art department supports four major document types: Adobe Illustration (AI), Photoshop Document (PSD), Pagemaker Document (PM6 or PMD), and Adobe Acrobat Documents (PDF).

We are unable to support other proprietary formats, including but not limited to: Publisher documents, AOL ART images, WordPerfect and Microsoft Word Documents, and DAT Files. In many cases we may be able to open the document (i.e Microsoft Word) but the logos often cannot be extracted, due to the manner in which they were embedded. All our setup work is done in Adobe Pagemaker. If the image cannot be imported to that program, it cannot be used.

The following formats are the only accepted formats: EPS, TIF, PDF, PMD, PM6, AI, EMF, WMF, PSD, BMP, TGA, PXC, GIF, JPG or PNG (in order or preference). All other formats are incompatible with our software.

Via Email

Send images as an attachment. Please do not use electronic stationary. Electronic stationary sometimes has small graphics on it that can confuse the art department as to which graphic is supposed to be printed.

The file being attached should end with one of the following file extensions: EPS, TIF, PDF, PMD, PM6, AI, EMF, WMF, PSD, BMP, TGA, PXC, GIF, JPG or PNG. If the attached file is in any other format, the art department will be unable to use it.

The email subject should include "Logo Submission" or "Graphic Submission" or something similar. Additionally, provide the name of your organization in the body/text of the email, along with any additional instructions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are trying to send emails from school, work, or other public institutions you may have a block on your email that prevents you from sending files with attachments. These organizations often do this to prevent the distribution of illicit, virulent, or copyrighted programs to others on the internet. If you are trying to send email from work or school, you may need to use a web-based email service (such as yahoo, hotmail, etc.) that isn't recognized by internal firewalls to bypass this restriction. Or you may need to try and submit the image from home. Please determine if your organization blocks attachments before sending emails, and if so take the appropriate measures to send the email to us via an alternate route.

Please do not send files in excess of 2 megabytes. Said files will overrun the mailbox and be rejected by our mail server.

Submitted images should be sent to
punchcardgraphics@insightbb.com.

Via Fax

Alternatively, you can fax 2-color images. Please use the following guidelines for submitting fax images; we want the cards to look their best.
  • Fax the graphic as large as possible. The more information we have to work with, the better the end result.
  • Use the cleanest, crispest sample image you can find.
  • Use caution when submitting graphics with large amounts of red, green, blue, etc. These colors, when faxed, render as black and therefore cannot be distinguished from any existing black line-art (or other dark colors) on the document. If your image is color on color, or has more than two colors, you should look into the email option above.
  • Note that grayscale images (images with shades of gray) either print out as black, or white, not shaded. Therefore, logos of this nature do not fax well. If you fax a grayscale logo, it will be distorted, compared to the original.

Faxed images should be transmitted to the following toll-free number: 1-866-405-1185.

Via Mail

If you are unable to email or fax, you can mail in a copy of your custom graphics, to be used on the card. Use your best judgement on what to send, but graphics should be large, clean, and set against a high contrast background (preferably white). Please don't send graphics that are small or on heavily creased or fibrous paper, as these scan in poorly and do not render well in print.
